We’re first time home buyers moving to Minnesota from out of state. Matt was very patient as we figured out neighborhoods we liked and a price range we were comfortable with, but acted quickly when our dream house hit the market. I really appreciated how well he knew the numbers and stats for the surrounding areas. I had a met a lot of realtors in this market, and many where really pushy. Matt was not pushy at all, and really knew this market. I had just moved from Texas, and being a Texan my entire life, I really needed help with understanding Minnesotan ways! It was a really hot market and things move fast. One thing I loved about working with Matt is that he was always upfront about what was coming next in the process – and always was available to answer any questions, about anything – from what contracts meant, to how the process worked. When we went out looking at houses, he would point out everything that he saw that was notable, whether it was good or bad. He truly wanted to make sure that I was making an informed design. He was also really knowledgeable in the Minnesotan things that I had no idea about as a Texan – such as radon, stucco, and basements! I was looking at a lot of older homes, and having always been in a newer homes, didn’t know what to consider when looking at things like radiators or different types of AC. Matt also waited for me to decide when and if I wanted to put an offer in, and never tried to make me offer something that I was uncomfortable. Even after I closed, he stayed in touch to make sure everything was okay and as expected with the house. We informed Matt that we wouldn’t be able to sell right now and weren’t sure when we would. He didn’t even bat an eye, he explained that it happens and to let him know if he could help in anyway. Over the next year we asked him hundreds of questions, had many the meeting around our kitchen table, and planned what the next steps would be. All this with the hopes of getting this house on the market and getting us into a house that better fit our needs. Finally in July it was time, the house however needed a little additional love to get it to the selling point. Matt was able to help us find professionals to assist in completing the transformation. Once it was on the market, it didn’t last long and we received 2 offers within a week. Just as the offers came in we were headed on vacation on a cruise ship. Matt continued to keep us informed of what was going on and worked with us through weird time zones and spotty cell service. With the house selling so fast we had a short turn around time to find our next house. While we were out of town Matt toured homes we were interested in and sent us videos so we could get a feel for the home. We placed an offer while on vacation and it was accepted. Even after closing Matt has checked in on us to see how things are going and how we enjoy the house. This was our first experience in the home buying world as we inherited our first home, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide to walk us through it.
