5 Places to Take Out of Town Guest in Minneapolis

With the Holiday season upon us, some of us will have a busy home full of out-of-town guests.

Below is a list of some of our favorite go-to spots for visitors for this time of year:

1) Go down to St. Anthony Main and have dinner at the Aster Cafe. If possible, try and get the patio by the river. https://astercafe.com

“The Aster Cafe is located under the trees on the prettiest street in Minneapolis. Overlooking the mighty Mississippi river and the skyline of the city, the Aster is a candle-lit restaurant-bar with a sweet European patio. Live music, great brunches, craft beers and cocktails, and a thoughtful wine list” - Aster Cafe website

2) Walk across the Stone Arch Bridge over to the Mill District.

“The Stone Arch Bridge is a former railroad bridge crossing the Mississippi River at Saint Anthony Falls in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the only arched bridge made of stone on the entire Mississippi River. It is the second oldest bridge on the river next to Eads Bridge.” - Wikipedia

3) Grab a show at the Guthrie Theatre. https://www.guthrietheater.org/

“The Guthrie Theater engages exceptional theater artists in the exploration of both classic and contemporary plays, connecting the community we serve to one another and to the world. Through its extraordinary artists, staff and facility, the Guthrie is committed to the people of Minnesota and, from its place rooted deeply in the Twin Cities, influences the field as a leading 21st-century arts organization.” - Guthrie Theater Website

4) Enjoy an iconic Jucy Lucy at either Matt’s Bar or 5-8 Club. Both claim to have created the original famous burger.

The signature burger of Minneapolis, the Juicy Lucy, is a cheeseburger with a twist: instead of the cheese being on top of the burger, it is sealed inside the patty! As the burger cooks, the cheese melts, making the meat around the center of the patty very juicy.

5) Shop till you drop at Mall of America - most locals try to avoid MOA, but visitors often want to see the mall that has 5 roller coasters inside. https://mallofamerica.com/

“Mall of America® has the privilege to work with the Twin Cities non-profit community. We couldn't do this without the support from you — our tenants, employees and guests.
