Igloo Dining in the Twin Cities

The first day of Spring is March 20, but here in Minneapolis, we are still surrounded by piles of snow and more seems to be on the way. 

Many Minnesotans can’t wait for the warmer weather to enjoy visiting some of our favorite restaurants and sitting out on the patios (I know I am).  But now we don’t have to wait for the snow to melt before we can relax on the patio with our favorite people!  

Have you tried igloo dining yet?  You are in your own little igloo bubble on the patio.  Often igloos have a heater, blankets, and tons of ambiance.  Igloos require reservations, and most seem to allow a 1.5 -2 hour reservations.  So bring a deck of cards to hang out with your favorite people and enjoy the winter night.

  1. Grand View Lodge; 23521 Nokomis Ave, Nisswa.  Igloo dining in theNorthwoods Pub.2-hour reservations are available for up to six people.  https://www.grandviewlodge.com/

  3. Broken Clock Brewery; 1712  Marshall St NE, Ste 100, MPLS.  This Minneapolis brewery has three themed igloos which you can enjoy drinks.  You can either bring in food or order from the taproom.  Reserve the igloo for either 1 or 2 hours.  https://www.brokenclockbrew.com/ 

  4. Twin Spirits Distillery;  2931 Central Ave NE, MPLS.    These are not really igloos, but greenhouses instead.  But you can still be on the patio in the winter.  Greenhouses can accommodate up to six people.  https://www.twinspirits.us/ 

  5. Mineral Springs Brewery; 111 N Walnut Ave, Owatonna.  Reservations for 90 minutes in igloos that seat up to eight people.  https://mineralspringsbrewery.com/

  6. Lock and Dam Eatery;  101 2nd St E, Hastings. Igloo dining for up to eight people.  The experience lasts an hour and 45 minutes.  https://www.lockanddameatery.com/

  7. Duke’s on 7;  15600 MN 7, Minnetonka.  2-hour experience for two - eight guests.  Pre-order food from a special igloo menu (fondue, crock pot pulled pork and more)  or order on the regular menu once there.  https://www.dukeson7.com/
